    About Us

Towards the end of 1989 Neil Foreman fell in love and placed an order for his first Kit Car – the stunning Noble Mk4 – a replica of Ferrari’s 330 P4 Sports Prototype racing car. For the next eighteen months, Aircraft Engineer, Neil and his eleven year-old Son, Matthew lovingly built the car, which would go on to win numerous ‘Best of Show’ awards and feature in TV programs and even a No.1 Pop video. The story of it’s build was featured in five consecutive issues of “Which Kit?’ Magazine culminating with a fantastic cover shot on what remains the worlds biggest selling Kit Car magazine issue ever.

Doors began to open and as his reputation grew, Neil started making and selling parts to other car builders. Coincidentally, the P4 project came up for sale so he took the plunge, bought the project and became a full-time Kit Car manufacturer under the name of N F Auto Development. By the third car, rebranded as the Foreman Mk4, Neil had re-designed the body moulds, the chassis and the suspension. Following a period of building high performance engines for a renowned Lancia specialist, Matthew joined the company full time. There soon followed the open-top Foreman CanAm and the first of several Ferrari V12 engined cars.

Sales of the ‘Foreman’ were a steady flow but were destined never to be a torrent. Sales of parts and services to other builders, however, began to grow. ‘Car Builder Solutions’ was launched quietly in 1999 with a tiny advert for just three products and by 2001 CBS had it’s own shop – a nine foot by thirty foot mobile home.

By 2008 over fifty ‘Foreman’ cars were produced - either as Kits or Drive-away ‘Turnkeys’ including the final, mesmerising V12- built entirely by Matthew. CBS continued it’s steady growth so the Foreman Project was sold, lock, stock and two smoking exhausts to Dunlop Systems in Coventry.

In 2012, Neil handed over the reins to Matt who continued the tradition of unrivalled customer service whilst embracing and developing the business.

In 2018 CBS stocks of over six thousand products in its nine thousand square foot warehouse. Matthew’s dedicated and hard-working team ship hundreds of parcels each day to loyal customers all around the world whilst Neil is kept busy producing and continually updating their now legendary catalogue of over four hundred and forty pages.

So welcome to the world of Car Builder Solutions where we not only ‘Talk the Talk’ we also ‘Walk the Walk’.
